Natural Cotton Clothing Dresses

Natural cotton clothing dresses (see current dresses below) are a mainstay of many producers of fair trade clothing. Amazing how the demand for something of a specialty product fits so nicely with the desire for equitable and sustainable commerce between producers and consumers.

Natural Cotton Clothing – One Cog in the Wheel of Demand for Fair Trade Goods

Much of the development of the fair trade industry has come as the result of the desire of enthusiasts for products of natural cotton clothing (amongst other goods) which had difficulty getting to market. This difficulty in getting products to market is talked about as being from what they call marginalized producers. In some cases the costs of bringing goods to market was so prohibitive even the most die-hard fair trade and natural cotton clothing enthusiasts were stretched beyond their means to bring goods home.

Enter Fair Trade Label Organizations

It was then people began to realize that the effort needed some organization in order to get products in respectable volume to market using more of the normal distribution channels. The beauty of the arrangement was that businesses discovered demand for the new Fair Trade Label products and began making efforts to bring those products to consumers. Multiple fair trade labelling organizations cover different regions of the world but the model is basically the same: certify products based on a loosely agreed upon set of rules and provide a more equitable marketplace for these marginalized producers to sell their goods. The result is improved living standards and greater exchange between more remote areas with less market-pricing power.
