Ethical Clothing Companies – Pants
Ethical clothing companies matter. Striving to find companies that use fair labor (producing fair trade pants for example) and environmentally friendly business practices once was relegated to very fringe home shops however we’re living in a new and better world today. Today the efforts of public figures like Paul Newman (amongst others such as Emma Watson – of Harry Potter fame) has shed light on the human cost we pay for “inexpensive” products from chain and box stores. The saddest part of all is that each day that goes by we find that ethical clothing companies (when properly funded) can both pay fair wages to employees AND still remain price competitive. What we learn each day is that low wage labor doesn’t necessarily translate into lower costs to consumers… it only results in the padded linings of egregious executive compensation. It’s true – not even the shareholders benefit from cutthroat labor practices (for proof – look no further than S&P 500 index performance versus high return CDs). So here we are, all in the same boat – the vast majority of us getting shafted, whether we know it or not by people that could care less the living and working conditions of the people who work for them.
The Good News about Ethical Clothing Companies
The good news is that there is something you can do about it. Here at Kewlthreads.com we’re trying to pull together as wide a selection of fair trade products as possible in as simple and easy a manner to purchase as possible. Everyone these days has made a purchase on Ebay or Amazon or another online company – so we’ll start with the fair trade products found there and try to keep expanding and adding as we find new and better websites. In the meantime, here’s a sampling of ethical clothing companies online.
